When the sun is out, there is a fresh layer of snow and the birdfeeders are just filled with all kinds of goodies.
You probably guessed right, not me. I should be doing my work out now, but I am having a blast looking out the window, watching our yard and deck.
If I had more of an imagination and felt less guilty over not exercising right now, I could write a whole soap opera over what happens during a morning in our backyard.
The players are 3 squirrels, some Blue Jays, 2 male Cardinals and tons of Dark Eyed Junco's, Starlings and other birds. One of the squirrels, I named him Shorty, lost more than half of his tail last October and I have been keeping an eye on him (or her).
Its nest is in the top of our big tree in the back and together with two others, they seem to be our main squirrels. Some days I can see them chasing other squirrels off that dare stealing nuts from our yard.
Anyway, here are the results from this morning.
